Development of SEA in Austria

Few years after increasing discussions about strategic environmental assessment (SEA) in Austria the development nowadays is gaining dynamics. One reason for that is that the discussions on administration and politics level became more intensive before agreeing to the Common Position towards the Council directive towards SEA. Another reason is that experiences in applying SEA in practise are growing continuously. Moreover studies and research works are carried out from time to time. For instance the SEA handbook of the Austrian Academy of Sciences has been actualized this year. As to the contents, you can follow the developement of SEA from the origin assessment instrument to an integrative planning tool.
