Criteria for Selecting Environmental Indicators

In order for environmental indicators to be effective and useful in the SEA process they should meet certain criteria to ensure they are fit for purpose. In brief, environmental indicators should demonstrate impact, help decision makers to make informed judgements and ensure effective monitoring. The following is a list of suggested criteria.
