Czech Republic

For some reason, the SEA world seems to treat all CITs as a single unit, despite the rapid evolution of SEA in these countries and the substantial differences in SEA status and approaches between them. This clearly needs to change. In the meanwhile, here are relevant sources of information:
* EIA network for CITs (this should be the first port of call) * 1997 article about SEA in the Czech Republic, Hungay, Poland and the Slovak Republic * Sofia initiative 1998: Recommendations on SEA in Central and Eastern Europe and in Newly Independent States * Information on transport SEAs in CITs (see OECD/ECMT conference, Dusik presentation) * Article about SEA in the Slovak Republic... and another one * Machac, M.D., R. Rimmel and L. Zenaty (2000) "SEA in the Czech Republic", Ch. 6 in Partidario and Clark (2000). * NATO, 1996, Methodology Focalisation, Evaluation and Scope of Environmental Impact Assessment, Fourth Report: Strategic Environmental Assessment: Theory Versus Practice, Report No. 212 * NATO, 1996, Methodology Focalisation, Evaluation and Scope of Environmental Impact Assessment, Report of the 11th workshop, Strategic Environmental Assessent in Landuse Planning, Warsaw, Poland * Landscape protected area Zelezne hory (Iron Mountains) 1996 * Landscape protected area Moravsky kras (Moravian Karst) 1996 * Landscape protected area Jizerske hory (Isere Mountains) * Litomericko region 1996 * National plan for transport infrastructure * Electric power plant development policy * Open-cast brown coal mine closure
